MAME Buttons Not Working

Hey all, need some help.

Running a I-Pac Ultimate board and having some issues with Mame. I have a 4 player setup and when I open notepad the buttons and joystick keys work perfectly.

When I open Mame and try some 4 player buttons player 3 joystick doesn't work. On some games, player 2 start doesn't seem to work and same with some of the buttons. On G.I Joe player 2 start didn't work either. I would turn on my Bluetooth keyboard and click the letter to start and it would.

Not sure what to do. Any help is appreciated.

perhaps someone more familiar with the I-pac setup will be able to help but just a few suggestions maybe check the direct-input/x-input settings in mame and maybe try setting the buttons manually in mame (hitting tab and going into the control settings and mapping them like that).

I'd check your wiring, visually, first and then look at the key mapping. Are you using any key assignments that are different than standard MAME?

Using the standard keys. Works with a keyboard yet doesnt seem to work with the board itself.  Just odd.

Check the i-Pac configuration, that's the only thing I can think of... maybe something isn't right, there. Otherwise (long shot) maybe the board is defective.

It seems your mame config is the the problem as they work with some games. Your buttons can be configured differently for each game within mame or use the global defaults.
