Hello,

I'm a newbie to this community. My name is Rick. Need help with Daemon Tools lite for Windows 10. Before we get started let me tell ya what I have:

PC:

Dell Inspiron 3650

Intel Core i3-6100 processor, 8gb DDR3L memory(for now), 1tb hdd, Intel HD Graphics(for now) but working well.

5TB HDD per-configured hyper-spin drive with all necessary files to install.

First off i installed everything perfectly on my Windows 7 machine with no errors to test out the drive i bought but now putting everything onto the new pc i bought to run the arcade cabinet i'm having issues as i get to daemon tools lite. Did i mention i hate windows 10 so if all fails ill wipe the drive and install windows 7, lol

The first daemon tools i tried to install said it was not compatible with windows 10, so I found the one that was. the issues i'm having is I do not know how to navigate myself around like the version i used for windows 7 cause everything with the Windows 10 is all changed and newer looking. Can anyone help me out but giving me step by step instructions to mount these virtual drives please and thank you!!

As you already discovered older daemon tools no longer work with Windows 10, I believe daemon tools 10.2 can still be found in the download section but last I remember you want to avoid updating it to whatever version it's at now because it won't work properly in conjunction with rocketlauncher after.

Your best best is actually to use a different emulator that doesn't require daemon tools, there were only a few that needed ie. Sega Saturn emulation, but mednafan or retroarch with the core have come along way in the last few months and can emulate it relatively well without the need for mounting discs

Ty battle,

Do you know which ones use Daemon tools and is there a guide on how to use these other emu's like mednafan or retroarch?

Sega Saturn is the first that comes to mind, some Playstation emulators like epsxe had higher compatibility and xebra I believe needs daemon tools also (not 100% tho)

As for setting up a different emulator, ie. Retroarch, you can probably find detailed instructions on their site better then I can give you, but essentially download retroarch, open it and download the cores you want for the systems you will be emulating using it and test a few games, if all is well it's a matter of opening up rocketlauncherui and from the global/emulators tab find retroarch, point it to where u installed it then update which systems will now use retroarch. So for Sega Saturn, you would click on it, then go over to the emulators tab and set default emulator to retroarch.

There's probably a little more to it that I'm forgetting but it's also not that complicated either, it's just a matter of updating the systems you already set up to use a different emulator if required
