sreisig1 Posted April 13, 2014 Posted April 13, 2014 Hey, I currently use MAME 0.144 and now that I have windows 7 64 bit, my roms down load correctly in hyperspin and when I open JUST MAME by itself and click on games MAME freezes. So I'm assuming I have to update to the latest release 0.153 and grab the 64 bit version. I downloaded all the files from the MAME website. Now what do I have to do to get everything up and running again? Do I need to update all the roms now? I'm a bit of a noob. So far I moved the mame64 bit.exe into the MCAME emulator folder in hyperspin. What are the next steps?

Also when I open hyperspin, select mame, and then go to area 51 and open the game, it stays on the loading game screen and nothing happens? What do I need to do? ICs this because I need a newer version of MAME
Nocturnaloner Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 First, get MAME working completely independently of Hyperspin. The MAME version should have nothing to do with it. If you double click on mame64, pick a working game, and start it, does it run?

Fromlostdays Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 I'm not positive on this but I also caught hell when trying to use a version of mame with a different version of mame roms (specifically with neo geo roms). I'm not savvy enough with clrmamepro to really tell you how to update, but I know enough to know that you need your romset, clrmamepro and an "update to [this version]" set to do it. Agrajag Posted April 14, 2014 Posted April 14, 2014 You can run your existing roms through clrmamepro or RomVault using the 0.153 DAT file or MAME exe, then torrent zip the results and join the latest torrent at a reasonable percentage.
