Don't know if I have an old Supermodel but I have to go through MS DOS to start it. Any decent tutorials about? I imagine this one's going to be a puzzler. I never had an ST either but a mate had one. We played a rather crap Star Trek game quite a bit and I just fancy having it as a full nostalgia collection. All this for one ST game. Rather OCD. For supermodel, start by reading the module notes in RLUI, it maybe a command line emulator but RL will deal with that.
Hawkeye71 Posted May 29, 2017 Author Posted May 29, 2017 Wasn't expecting Supermodel to be easier than the Commodore 64.... Sorry , back again Seem to have upset something in my quest to remove the Commodore 64s run stop key away from the PCs esc key. Pressing the esc key in Hyperspin would produce the all too obvious result. The Warp tick and True Drive Emulation untick keeps returning and overriding the emulator. I can successfully save the desired settings in the c64 emulator, I can successfully run the games self running D64 but when the two merge in Hyperspin the Warp drive ticks and True Drive unticks back in the C64 emulator. Do you know would cause this? Something in Hyperspin is forcing the unwanted change I presume? Then I can move back to my run stop problem?

I would imagine that RocketLauncher is changing those settings for you like it is designed to. You need to check the module settings and set them how you like.
Hawkeye71 Posted May 29, 2017 Author Posted May 29, 2017 Can you flesh this out re where I look please? I'm not immediately finding anything that overrides the unticked warp or ticked True Drive Emulation.

Hawkeye71 Posted May 30, 2017 Author Posted May 30, 2017 Sigh, couldn't have been clearer labelled if it tried. Missed that. Sorry. Key mapping seems to have sorted itself out too so we are up and running Thank you very much.
Hawkeye71 Posted June 16, 2017 Author Posted June 16, 2017 Can anyone assist re the setting up of two player joysticks in Winvice? I say joysticks I suppose its more 2 players sharing the one keyboard as i'm going though an I-pac. I can get keyset A and keyset B working but not both together. I have googled but I seem to be being advised to go to areas of the C64.exe that don't seem to exist. I'm on Vice 3.1. With a control panel with two joysticks and corresponding buttons, once the above is sorted, will that mean I wont be troubled with the swap port 1 -port 2 problem? I could just use either one control panel joystick or the other depending on the port demand of the game?

I found that setting Keyset A & B always got reset so I only have the one set.
Hawkeye71 Posted June 17, 2017 Author Posted June 17, 2017 Ah, I was working just inside the 64.exe for the moment trying to get 2 sticks working but on reflection allocating up down etc.. for both sticks inside RL seems to have done the job anyway. Seems to have saved the settings after logging out and back in again too so sorry, yet another stupid question. many thanks
Hawkeye71 Posted June 28, 2017 Author Posted June 28, 2017 I'm pretty much all but done with my Commodore set up but there are some games that require the press of keys to get started. S in particular Some keys are not working on the X64.exe itself. I've read up on the nightmare of key mapping, cant say I really understand it but as far as I can see all the .vkms (as I don't know which is which) seems to be showing that S Commodore key has been allocated to S pc key but it does not work. Is there something else i'm missing here why half the keyboard is not working?

Hawkeye71 Posted June 28, 2017 Author Posted June 28, 2017 Well, BMX simulator,BC2 Grogs Revenge, Chuckie Egg, Popeye (McMillan), Trapdoor are a handful I found. The games are supposed to start with the letter S. It does not accept this. Actually Popeye and Trapdoor offer an 'R' for redefine keys. That don't work either. There are other games like Bristles, Marble Madness and V that you have to tab/ page down though the options to the 'start' at the bottom. I seem to have no tab/page down buttons working. I have also noticed a few games, not button S reliant where you enter the players name at the start. only a handful of letters work. Not the S. Weird that even the raw 64.exe application blue Commodore screen with no game doesn't have half the keyboard working either yet there are other games that will recognise an 'S' has been pressed. The winvice package comes with other x64.exe applications. x64c.exe, x64dtv.exe. One of those did recognise above BMX Simulators S button. This all seems very random. Any help would be appreciated.

I have tried some of those and Chuckie Egg starts fine when I press the "S" on my mini keyboard. BC2 starts with F1 and Trapdoor was fine as well. My keyboard setting is US Symbolic.
Hawkeye71 Posted July 1, 2017 Author Posted July 1, 2017 Tried allsorts. Tried US Symbolic once more. Still nothing. I don't know if theres a link as i'm having a similar problem on the Mega Drive/Genesis through Retroarch. Some games will start with the enter key pre allocated to be the start button and some wont. I cannot see any logic as to why or how the enter button would work for some and not others.
