So I was just updating my system and came upon the Gigapig complete system builds with everything already setup so I wanted to give it a try well now it won't run any games except Mame and it seems to have some thing to do with this error. I have tried Retro Arch on its own and it ran with no issue. I also made sure 7z was enabled and turned off fade.

ScriptError - There was an error waiting for the window "RetroArch ahk_class RetroArch". Please check you have the correct version emulator installed for this module, followed any notes in the module, and have this emulator working outside your Frontend first. Also turn off Fade to see if you are hiding your problem.

I have also attached the log. I used all my google-fu for this error and came up with nothing. Can anyone help?

Thank you,

I've had a look at your log so thanks for posting that. I see that the ROM you chose seems to be named differently once extracted, which in this case does not seem to matter.

The other thing I see is RocketLauncher is using the Retroarch.cfg instead of the Nintendo Entertainment System.cfg. So did you set the config path in RLUI under module settings?

Hey Gigapig,

Thanks for responding! I didn't want to message you directly because you have done so much for the community and didn't want to bug you as this is probably something I did wrong when migrating your build but since you are here...  like I said earlier I am upgrading my entire system so I thought I would use your pre-cofigured build. I extracted the zips and copied the Hyperspin folder over my old one (could this have caused the issue?). It looks like everything copied correctly so I thought I would try Atari 2600 since its the first in the list with Astroids. That's when it threw the error that you saw. It seems to only be happening on the retro arch emulator but I ran the rom succesfully on its own outside RL. I have attached a more recent log with the configs fixed I think?? Still throwing the same error. Thanks for your help!

All cards on the table - I saw a message when upgrading Rocket Launcher that I needed to manually move some files but couldn't remember all the steps I needed to do after I upgraded. I searched for that message on the forums as well for the steps but no dice.

Thanks for your help!

Ohh thats interesting its definitely taking 30 seconds. Does it look like retro arch isn't starting in the log? I have been trying to determine what I could from it. Honestly the logging is top notch, now the user on the other hand...

EDIT:

I have been doing some more reading after your comments and it looks like the Retro Arch is starting but still throwing the same error.

Is there anyway to just blow the Retro Arch config/module away and start from scratch? I tried deleting the module and migrating the ones from the zip but I didn't mess with any configs or emulators. I also uploaded a new log, please let me know if you need any configs.

Best,

Can you open RLUI and check to see if "Skip Checks" is set to false both Globally and under Atari 2600. From your log it may be set to Rom Only. It's under the settings tab

Gigapig,

I set the "Skip Checks" to False. When opening Astroids with Rocket Launcher it throws this error

ScriptError - No valid roms found in the archive Asteroids (USA).7z
Please make sure Rom_Extension contains a rom extension inside the archive: "lha|lzh|gzip|tar|cue|iso|7z|zip|rar|sfc|gba|gb|a78|sv|gbc|rpk|gme|sc|cdt|ws|wsc|ngp|ngc|vms|ipf|n64|z64|sg|fds|caq|vb|vec|wav|cas|min|int|rom|tap|tzx|nes|col|nds|cpr|gg|pce|st2|sms|smc|lnx|md|32x|n64|a52|j64|cso|iso|ccd|chd|bin|p"

I have attached the most recent log.

Cheers,

I managed to fix the error for the Atari 2600 just now

"ScriptError - No valid roms found in the archive Asteroids (USA).7z
Please make sure Rom_Extension contains a rom extension inside the archive:
"

for the Atari 2600 by adding A26 to the Retro Arch config like ths...

"lha|lzh|gzip|tar|cue|iso|7z|zip|rar|sfc|gba|gb|a78|sv|gbc|rpk|gme|sc|cdt|ws|wsc|ngp|ngc|vms|ipf|n64|z64|sg|fds|caq|vb|vec|wav|cas|min|int|rom|tap|tzx|nes|col|nds|cpr|gg|pce|st2|sms|smc|lnx|md|32x|n64|a52|j64|cso|iso|ccd|chd|bin|p|A26"

I thought that would be it but a few of the systems I tested failed to work with the same Rom Extension error. I am looking at the 7z and zips now and the file names inside are definitely not the same as the file names themselves. I believe I did a mass rename to match the xml at some point but they have been working for years. Is there something I can do? I never thought I would have to rename Atari zipped files. This is an example of how my 5200 and nes files are named in their zip attached.

Also I know its late over there, thanks for your help today, if you think of anything or want me to try anything let me know but its really no hurry. I really appreciate you taking your free time to help me!

Thank you,

-GTP

Your welcome and I am off to bed now :)

You can also try changing "Match Extensions" to false and see if that helps. If you can always try to find HyperSpin Ready ROM sets as they will be named exactly the same as the database.
