Trackball in Mame is getting "select position to load from" error

Trackball in Mame is getting "select position to load from" .  All other functions are working fine.  Trackball works as a mouse outside of hyperspin with no issues.

 

Any suggestions?

So when you move the trackball mame is throwing up a message to load a save from ??

Yes... It does it with the Trackball and the mouse both... I've tried disconnecting the both, but I get the message if one or both is plugged in.  Typically I just dump the mouse and use the trackball once everything is set up.  I'm stumped and I've looked online for a solution for two days.  I've tried everything I can think of or I have been able to read.  You're my last hope Gigapig
