Hi friend, I have windows 8.1 too and is working alright. Do you still have the problem you posted in the first post? If it isn't memory, I think your PC is suffering from heat ... overclocking? Go to the BIOS and see if the machine is been overclocking. Review your temperature too.

UPDATE! Seems it wasn't anything to do with HS at all. After trying out various hardware related things I ended up going into bios and setting it the default settings and now HS nor Windows locks up at all. I wish I knew what setting was causing it.

Ups, now is that I read all the posts lol, I was right after all ... it was auto overclocking your PC, today's mobos have that feature and some people have problem with them, resetting or manually configuring your setting fix this.
