Led blinky progress thread

I'm creating this thread to document my led blinky problems.

I'm finding it extremely confusing how to set up correctly. Sometimes I'll be making good progress then I'll try to add another system or modify something and the whole thing comes crashing down..

I'll add some videos soon of how far I've got and what my current issues are..

The part I'm struggling with is getting my main cab controls for example exit pause and select plus volume controls, to light up and stay lit regardless of system or games...

Some systems also only say button 1 button 2 etc etc even though I've used rocket blinky..

I've also changed all the ipac original keys as they conflicted with different emulators so setting these new keycodes has been a pain....

This is a pic of track and field running. Controls show up nice but only my select and esc keys light up on the top left.
Do I set these in mame default list on controls editor ...

How do i add my classics wheels like atari classics and data east classics etc to show up the correct colour buttons..
Works fine in the proper mame wheel..

Guys...if it's only mame that gets my buttons wrong and I can set the rest for other systems fine using controls editor in led blinky. Then where is mame getting my mappings from..you can't change mame default settings in controls editor

Right... guys please help. I'll just ask one question at a time

What file do I edit for mame to show the detail always lit controls. It lights every thing apart from my settings button which is mapped to the tab key as per the normal mame config. If I edit default keys for other emulators it lights up so nothing wrong with the button..its just mame, but I can't edit that system
