stampedem Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 I'm using the Xtension "Emulator Edition" two-player board with trackball. The board seems to work just fine. And in fact, so does the trackball, outside of HyperSpin on my windows desktop. But as soon as I tick the use trackball option in Hyperspin HQ, things go bad. If I do that, and then launch HyperSpin, the wheel goes crazy. It just spins at like 1000 RPM. Totally out of control, to the point that I have to force the application closed. For what it matters, and just for extra info, I kept the sensitivity to 90%, just as HS HQ stock setting... would lowering the sensitivity help? Or is it another issue all together? It feels a bit sluggish at 90% as it is. Has anyone else encountered this?
gigapig Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Yes it's a well known issue with trackball and spinners, all you can do is not use them and uncheck that box.
stampedem Posted July 26, 2017 Author Posted July 26, 2017 I see. Thanks again Gigapig. I'm happy to report that, after about 3 months of setup and learning (this is my first every foray into emulation -- and really any type of computer thing -- after I decided to build a full-size arcade machine for my home), I'm like 95% done with HS/RL etc. Finally got a complete HS setup with all the important consoles and MAME. I'm just mapping the joysticks and controllers now. The out of control trackball thing threw me off guard. I'm going to guess, and I'll learn if this is true soon enough, I can still configure the trackball to work within MAME, just not within HyperSpin. So no real loss I think. Thanks again GP.
gigapig Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 That's great news about your cab and pushing yourself to make it, did you start a build thread so we can see it?
