Not entirely sure if this is where i should be posting this but i have successfully got the vectrex to start up and run games. However the issue i am having is i have mapped buttons 1-4 however it appears only button 3 is actually functioning. I attempted mapping to the keyboard and to a 360 controller with the same results for both. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jestoner,

Hello and welcome to the Forums!!!

First off, a little more information is in order. What version of HyperLaunch are you using and more important, what emulator are you using?

A good read, some basics on posting: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?31072-The-HyperNoobie-Guide-For-Posting-To-The-Fourm

Thanks,

Sorry very new to all of this, i think this is actually an issue with MESS not hyperspin. I am attempting to set up the keybindings in mess itself and am having this issue. I did some googling and have not found anyone with this issue so i may be missing something very simple.

Not a worry at all!

If you machine can handle it, you might take a look at ParaJVE. IMHO, much better emulator than MESS. Looks so much better. ;)

What I would do is this. Launch MESS outside HyperSpin or HLHQ. It should open up to a screen with the "Configure General Inputs" at the bottom of the screen. Then scroll down to "Player 1 Controls" and map them there.

That's what i did actually. Perhaps it is just time to try a fresh install and start over again, i will also take a look at ParaJVE and see how my system likes it (testing on a first gen i7 with video card but will be on a 4th gen i3 with no video card)

MESS looks exactly the same to me with HLSL enabled and the right settings. :)

Understood. But ParaJVE just works. Nothing to enable and no settings changes. Launch it the first time, and it downloads Java (if you don't have it). Point it to your roms and it works. ;)

Sounds like that should handle it just fine. On one of mine, it's just a Core 2 Duo and it runs great. But on my old P4D, not at all.
