bigsexy Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Hey there Hyperspinners, I really need some help as i have been trying to setup Hyperspin for about 6 months and the stress is about to give me a cardiac! Im new to the FE world and have built a beautiful cab that cost me several hundreds of dollars but am sick of having to load mame32 via mouse / Keyboard and want to make the unit complete with a sext FE in hyperspin. I have a win 7 machine and have installed Hyperspin, Hyperlaunch and HyperlaunchHQ. I followed the exact steps in the below tutorial - Since following the steps in the tutorial my games list has been cut down to only the working roms i have and want to use. What is happening though is that when i try to lauch a game within the mame wheel, the start button (enter) does not launch the game and when i try to exit i get an ahk_error - "there was and error waiting for the window ahk_class MAME. Please check that you have the correct version emulator installed for this module, followed any notes in the module, and have this emulator working outside the moduke". The roms and emulator all work fine when launching Mame32 direct. I have also put all the emumovie videos in the follwing folder (names for roms and videos match) but nothing displays in HS - C:\Hyperspin\Media\MAME\Video. Im no HS wiz and as mentioned i have watched about 30 videos both on the website and youtube before coming here to harass you guys. I really am no PC wizz but i am dying to finish this beautiful cab and relive my childhood but at this rate all i feel like doing is taking a sledgehammer to it all :'( I beg of someone to help me and steer me in the right direction. For gods sake i would even pay someone to just get it running for me. Hopefully someone out here can help me out. Please guys im begging.:adore: Cheers and thanks in advanced
zerojay Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 "there was and error waiting for the window ahk_class MAME. Please check that you have the correct version emulator installed for this module, followed any notes in the module, and have this emulator working outside the moduke". Your problem is right in the error. Make sure the window ahk_class in the module matches up with the expected window ahk_class for your version of MAME. If you are using a non-standard, older or SVN build of MAME, you may run into these problems. Verify using the ActiveWindowsLogger.ahk script while running MAME alone to see what the window class is and check your module.
bigsexy Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Zerojay i cant thank you enough for replying so quickly. I really dont want to upset you and i apologise a million times in advaced. I have no idea what the ahk_class means nor how to check / verify this. I really am not that tech savvy. Again im so sorry to trouble you like this but can you kindly elaborate a little and or direct me as to how i can check this or what it even means? Thanks again, i cant explain how much i appreciate any help offered.
bigsexy Posted April 27, 2014 Author Posted April 27, 2014 Is there a MAME emulator that can be suggested that works with Hyperspin /Hyperlaunch latest versions that isnt command line? I only use mame32 as its GUI and easy to use??
zerojay Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I gave you the info you need to check the ahk_class already. You can find the script in your Hyperspin directory.
ghutch92 Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 I suggest finding out what version number of mame you have and then downloading the corresponding mame version from the official mame website. It's hard to account for all the different variations of mame so hyperlaunch is only supporting the official versions available for download. So use the command line version with hyperlaunch and save the gui one for stand alone use. If you are gonna break your pc I would recommend using fireworks and gunpowder, as this is more fun than breaking your hand or your foot.
