Hello all. I just picked up an arcade cabinet that from a guy who does hyperspin builds. Although it is mostly set up, it has a few issues that I need get taken care of right away... and a few that are not a must right off the bat, but I will be taking care of in the near future. I am new to trying to navigate through forums and I am not doing too well at finding threads on what I need to do to fix my issues. So if people can link me to threads that would spell out how to fix my issues, then I would greatly appreciate it :) . I am as new as you can be to this system so I will provide you with what little I know that I have. I was told it is the latest version of hyperspin and rocket launcher. I have links on my desktop to Hyperhq, rlauncher, and hyperspin. It is all on a PC running windows 10 64 bit OS. And if this matters - System specs - i7 processor, 12 gigs of ram, ati 7770 hd 2gb gpu, 250 gig ssd (op system), 5tb drive (with hyperspin), 2tb drive with steam games (not linked)

1. The biggest issue that I need to fix right away in getting my xbox 360 controller to work with certain systems. Arcade classics work just fine with the arcade controls, but systems I want to work with the 360 controller are not. ps2, gamecube, etc etc. When i plug my 360 controller in it will run the wheel and select the games though, but after that it doesnt work on anything.

2. Changing the front end. I would like my theme to not cover the wheel when i stop selecting. Is there an easy fix for this? I still want a video to play to show what the game is, but off to the side sort of thing and not cover up the wheel. Is there an easy fix for this?

3. When I add a game to favorites it goes into favorites, but if i also view favorites from same menu, so far it is only the one game that I put in. It has not saved multiple games. And I also cant figure out how to get to favorites without trying to add a game first. I see no favorite wheel. I am assuming I am missing a step in all of this.

4. Booting to hyperspin. I know I saw a youtube video on this a while back, but a thread would be an easier way to go through the process

5. I purchased an older Logitech momo steering wheel to eventually get working on here. Good threads out there on this?

6. I watched a youtube video that was only 3 months old, so I am not sure if this is even out yet, but is there a steam wheel yet? And does your steam account have to be on the same drive as HS, or can you link it to it?

Any help I would greatly appreciate. Again, new to HS and forums lol.... I know I have A LOT to learn lol, but I really want this cab to shine. The guy did an awesome job on the cabinet, now I just need to get everything dialed in. I also plan to add Aimtrak light guns in the near future as well, but atm these other things will take priority lol.

When looking for specific threads its easier to google search the issue and put hyperspin at the end rather than search within Hyperspin. As for you your issues I will help as best as I can with the limited info:

1) Each system will use a different emulator. Arcade Classics will most probably use MAME or Retroarch (with a mame core) Retroarch will configure your xbox360 controller automatically however other emulator do not and need setting manually.  Im guessing that Gamecube uses Dolphin and PS2 uses PCSX2. You will need to go into the emulator itself and go to the input menu, from there its pretty self explanatory.

2) Yes there is an easy fix for this, open HyperHQ and go into each system there is an option for opacity, change it to whatever you like, its probably set to 0.

3) Not 100% sure on this one but you wont be able to open favourites without adding a game in their first as it wont have an xml file to open. Press F to bring up the favourites menu, add a few games. Press F and go to View Favourites. This is done per system, there is no master favourites.

4) There are alot of threads about this however they are OS specific. There are also some tools in the download section to help.

5) You will probably need to map it using Xpadder or Joy2Key, check out the tutorials section.

6) Sorry i dont use steam with my hyperspin so Im not sure how to do this, maybe somebody else knows.

Hyperspin is a beast to setup, 32 systems has taken me almost 2 years so stick with it. People are very helpful on here, love your cab btw.

Unfortunately your gonna struggle I'm afraid, buying a pre built setup is the worst route you can take for learning hyperspin .
I did exactly the same and ended up wiping the lot and starting from scratch, trouble with rocket launcher and hyperspin you change one or two little things and the whole system won't work and you won t know why.
It's really easy in the end but trying to learn after its half up and running is very hard.
I'd suggest using your normal PC and get a hyperspin setup going from scratch, you have the roms now just start with an easy system like sega megadrive.

Thank you very much for the info :) I will try going into the emulator settings tomorrow and going from there on the controller mapping. I did set the fade thing to 1, but it just makes the wheel not disappear and it is still behind the artwork. I did try deleting the artwork from the folders (backed up of course lol) and that worked just fine. So if nothing else i can go the route of removing the artwork on the main wheels i intend to use. The favorites thing i also figured out. I guess it only allows for favorites within that particular wheel. So thats a bit of a bummer... but down the road when i learn more i can look into making a favorites wheel i guess. Ill hit the rest of it after the controller mapping that is the certainly the next important step i need to tackle lol. Again, thank you for the help :)
