Genesis games not starting from RL but do from retroArch direct?

Hi guys,

 So I am continuing on this long journey to create my cabinet and I have moved onto Gensis games now, I have decided to use RetroArch for the games and 90% of my roms launch to a black screen. If I open up RA directly I can open rom but it needs to look into the zip file itself and opens via the .bin files. I need to make RL open inside the zip but its not doing it.

 

Edit: It seems No 7z files are opening?

You might have lost your 7z.exe and/or 7za.exe to a Virii scanner, check your quarantine as you might be able to just restore and exempt them.

Or try to re-extract your RL install package and have it not override any files that are currently present.

If they are still around check your RL Settings and be sure it knows they are compressed.

Thank you for the reply.

I had to maually rename the files inside the 7z files as I had incorrect named roms that did not match my Xml file. I did not realise I had to rename the files as well as the rom names.

 

I now have another issue however relating to the wheel.  If I use HyperHQ to only show my roms, the wheel is empty and does not load at all. I can only see the genesis wheel if I have all xml roms active.   (its been a long day here lol)

Inside HyperHQ there is a section to put in the file extensions that the DB is looking for. 

Be sure that is setup I guess.

Yep, that was it. I had separated the files with a " |" instead of a " ,"

 

Now im trying to make the wheel look better... cant seem to get any logos, box art etc to show.

Another day of hyperspin set up today so no doubt Ill be asking more questions later!
