Modifying HyperSpin UI controls

First, I apologize that I wasn't able to find the answer to this basic question - I *did* search first before posting (but perhaps not well)...

I have everything working great currently except controlling the HS UI while in the MAME wheel.

I have the following setup:

 - Two players consisting of 6 buttons each.

Controls are mapped using a J-Pac, so I'm not using any other translation software (such as joy2key).

I have modified settings within the mame emulator, but I can't figure out how to modify the HS wheel controls.

For instance, I'd like to map P1 B2 to pull up the favorites list.

From what I've read, it's not a good idea to use the controls section in HyperHQ; even when I try to use that, certain keys (such as left LALT which maps to my P1 B2) are not recognized.

Where/how can I modify the controls for the HyperSpin UI?

(FYI - I'm using RocketLauncher as well).

Thanks.

The controls "not to use" in HQ are the joypad ones. Since you are j-pac (keystrokes) this shouldnt affect you.

I am unsure of what buttons (or combinations of buttons) HS will accept for controlling hyperspin there though. You may want to look into setting up JTK just for this.

Wait, no joypads I guess JTK cant help... lol

I wonder if the "startup script" can help here???

I've actually downloaded the startup script but I'm confused as to the labels (Joy2, Joy3, etc).  Are those buttons?

I'll reexamine if you think that's the solution....

Thanks!

Is there is a reason why you use LALT? I would just use "f" or something. Alt, shift and control are generally reserved as modifiers so i tend to not use those.

That's the default mapping for P1 B2; I'm using default mapping right now...

Yeah... I actually have a setup with xbox controllers so i cant help much with ipac stuff but i do have a couple ideas.

1. I am not sure if HS can differentiate between left and right alt, did you try just putting alt in HQ?

2. Ipac must have config utility. Remap button 2 to another key that HQ likes (you would have to re-config mame to reflect this as well).

3. Or simply use another button (one thats default is a basic letter key) to bring up favorites.
