MAME 0.196 Video old screen settings, help!

Hello,

I consider myself a decent hyperspin user with 3 years of experience, but I am having a hard noob time right now.

When I started configuring hyperspin, I used Simply Austin MAME configuration to configure this system, and he provided everything configured with old CRT screen settings. Which I only had to copy to my emulator folder. 

Other than that, I never got into learning this to do it myself as it was already done.

Now I have upgraded to MAME 0.196 and these folders (hlsl, artwork and ini folders) from simply austin, don't work with 0.196. (as shown on the screenshot from his video tutorial below).

I tried using the sliding options directly on my MAME 0.196, but it doesn't show all the option as I have seen on some youtube tutorials.

Well, is it ok if someone could share his/her settings from MAME 0.196 (I guess even 0.195 should work as well) so it could look like an old CRT with scanlines, etc?? or lead me on to the right direction to configure the video settings?

ok, I think I found what I was looking for. I found this thread on another forum. It is in spanish though but one can only have to copy/paste his settings to the ini file. 

I will try this when I get home.

If anyone is interested or need this, I will leave the link below. You can use google translator and shouldn't be a problem.

Then click on "COMO PONER FILTRO GLSL (scanlines y monitor curvo)" and this will take you to the video settings  to edit the ini file.

Sorry that it is in spanish but this is the best tutorial I have found to do it.

I figured it out but it seems the curvature is off a bit.

I have it working in mame but it wont work when you run it in hyperspin. Any suggestions?

Hey, sorry I didn't notice you replied here. Please quote me so I can get a notification.

Did you manage to make it look correctly? I just noticed the screen is a bit off on top, like you said.

Edit: I asked that guy on the forum and he said it was configured like that to give that old CRT inclined look. Which actually looks well giving that impression, just that with the bezel it wont be aligned... so it is one's preference.

So it is up to you if you want to leave it like that or go with this other settings as posted here.
