Hyperspin for dummies

Ok... I thought I knew how to set up programs like this.... but.... I have been trying to get Hyperspin running for a couple days now and I am having no luck.

The main thing I am trying to do is clean up the game list and delete most of the "default" loaded-in roms... but.... editing the XML file with excel is not working for me... it is locking up the file. What program can I use to easily edit the XML? I really don't want to do it with notepad or wordpad.

Also what is the relationship between hyperspin and hyperlaunch? I can't get the two to talk to each other for some reason.

I use EditPlus or use Notepad+

HS is Fancy FrontEnd

HL is the bomb! Launching Roms with a lot of options automaticly.

I would be looking into Don's Hypertools. Some awesome third party apps right there http://honerbrink.com/?page_id=14.

Unfortunately he stopped development on these, but they function just perfect as is.

Hyperlaunch is with Hyperspin most of the time, but hyperlaunch is also seeing others at the time. I mean wouldn't you get upset and maybe not talk to your significant other if you found out that your mate was trying out other options.
