Database Game System

Hi,

Perhaps it's me, and perhaps you always know it, but it seems there is a strange thing appearing with the xml files relative to the database system. At the beginning i would to use the rom name system of TOSEC, without have to rename the artwork, video of Hyperspin.

In the Xml File:

<game name="Sonic the Hedgehog (USA, Euope)" index="true" image="">
	<description>Sonic The Hedgehog (USA, Eu)</description>
	<cloneof></cloneof>
	<crc></crc>
	<manufacturer></manufacturer>
	<year></year>
	<genre></genre>
	<rating></rating>
	<enabled>Yes</enabled>
</game>

At "name" i put the name of my game, using the No-intro name with an error to verify something... As i thought, it don't load artworks, logos etc...

But if i fill the "clone of" balise by:

<cloneof>Sonic The Hedgehog (USA, Europe)</cloneof>

I hoped to have the load of artworks, video etc... but only the video has loaded. I made several tests and it seems artwork etc uses the name game's only when video can use "clone of".

If i'm right, i'm pretty sure it must be quick to debug and must help many of people to don't have  to rename everything.

Thx

The "clone of" tag has absolutely nothing to do with artwork.

It is mainly for the mame system. Pac-Man is a "clone of" Puck Man for example.
