NanasPanas
Hi folks. I would appreciate help with this new problem. I upgraded to Hyperspin 1.51 a few weeks ago without any issues. This morning, I ran into a new problem. Hyperspin main menu loads normally, but when I select the MAME wheel, a black screen appears and nothing else happens. It doesn't respond to Escape, so I have to use Task Manager to end Hyperspin. Other (non MAME) wheels load normally. The only thing I can think of is that I performed a Windows Update yesterday. The Hyperspin log.txt reads: 11:41:51 AM | HyperSpin Started 11:41:51 AM | Going FullScreen 11:41:51 AM | Checking for updates 11:41:51 AM | Update Check Complete 11:41:51 AM | Startup program unavailable 11:41:51 AM | Error intializing joysticks 11:41:52 AM | Menu Mode is multi 11:41:52 AM | Loading Main Menu.xml 11:41:52 AM | Main Menu.xml successfully loaded 11:41:52 AM | Main Menu wheel loaded successfully 11:41:56 AM | Loading MAME.xml 11:41:56 AM | roms_only is true, checking files 11:41:59 AM | Main Menu.xml successfully loaded 11:42:11 AM | Quiting Hyperspin 11:42:11 AM | Bye! gigapig
I would check your Mame database if this only effects Mame. It could also be a bad piece of wheel art or theme maybe even the Mame settings file found in the settings folder. Anyone else have any ideas? NanasPanas
I replaced MAME.ini in the Hyperspin/Settings/ folder with the default one, and the problem was resolved. I'll have to hunt down what was the specific line that triggered it. Thank you @gigapig !
