The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

disabling bezels/ui effects?

Hi all. Hopefully an easy question..I've installed a preconfigured hyperspin build to help me get started with the program.

I'm trying to figure out how to disable this bezel and rounded corners tv effect(not the scanlines) that came as default.. not sure if this is even hyperspin specific or within the emulator itself.

I see there is a option in rocket launcher for enabling/disabling UI effects but this doesn't appear to do anything? any help is appreciated!

This is the kind of reason why we generally don't support any pre-configured setups here. If you yourself don't know how things are configured, it's very difficult for us to guess what the original person did.

Those scanlines could be built right into the bezel. Or they could come from mame... or a RetroArch overlay. Also looks like you are running a 16:9 bezel on a 4:3 monitor. Again, those bezels can be loaded from RL, Mame, or RA.

HS is just the menus (Wheels, Videos, Themes). Once you select a game, your emulator and/or rocketlauncher take over.

IMO, HS is the type of FE that only people who don't mind digging in and learning how everything works ultimately stick around. I don't want to sound anti-HS (I love it) but there is just easier FE's to setup. They don't give you the freedom of "exactly how you want your FE to look", but they are easier. Actually, the real key is RocketLauncher. Once you have that setup, all FE's will be pretty easy. As a matter of fact, if I had to start all over again, I wouldn't install an FE until the very end. Just RL! Make sure all games load/save/exit... complete all fades/bezels/scanlines. Then when everything is perfect, you can have 3-4 FE's if you want, simply point them to RL! It will just be a matter of setting up how you want your menus to look.

User Ninja2bceen has a whole bunch of video tutorials in a thread here somewhere, I definitely suggest you watch some of these.
