Simple HS Setup

Hi everyone,

the last days I thought a lot about building an emulation machine.

I ended up installing a second Windows partition on my MacBook Pro.

(which was a pain in the a, since you are not supposed to install more than one additional system)

I was planning to use this Windows just for emulation and didn't even install an anti virus tool.

Installed Dolphin, PCSX2, made both run with DS4Windows to use the rumble function of the controller and everything worked so far.

Then I tried forever to make Hyperspin running Dolphin but it just didn't.

I added a wheel in HyperHQ, tried to set it up, called it "Nintendo GameCube", but in Hyperspin is just the default slogan sans and no GameCube icon.

If I click this default wheel, which should be linked to Dolphin.exe and my GameCube iso file, it says "cannot find Nintendo GameCube.xml".

This is my system:

2.PNG.3dd0561b03ecadb43f719c9059a99f6a.PNG

The second graphics card Apple iris something is not recognized by WINDOWS, but that shouldn't be a problem.

I really hope someone can help me get into this.

Also, what do you think about my Laptop, is it strong enough to be a neat emulation machine?

Kind regards, Jonas

you need to create or download a "game List"  for each system you install in HyperHQ

this game lists are known as XMLs in hyperspin

they go in the database folder

your GameCube XML will need to go in

HyperSpin\Databases\Nintendo GameCube\Nintendo GameCube.XML

you can download most XMLs from here

http://hyperlist.hyperspin-fe.com/

but I suggest you go into the forum --> HyperBase database section; a allot of XMLs are updated and never uploaded to hyperlist.

and Hyperspin can run on a 10 year old XP machine,  what you can't run on a 10 year old machine are next gen emulators.

you will know when you need a computer upgrade when you run an emulator and it runs slow/choppy.

Thanks a lot,

now its clickable and shows all available games.

Is there also an option to just show the games and platforms used?

So that it somehow recognizes which roms are actually there?

And the lettering of "Nintendo GameCube" is still the default, as well as empty games inside.

just like your XML

you need to download the actual game and system artwork in order for them to show up

you can use Hypersync to automatically download artwork for you,  but you need to become a platinum member

similarly you need to become a donating member at emumovies if you want to automatically download game videos.

you can manually download artwork packs from the download section for free.

your lettering of Nintendo GameCube

download a main menu  gamecube wheel image you like and place it at

C:\HyperSpin\Media\Main Menu\Images\Wheel\Nintendo GameCube.png

your game wheels will go in

C:\HyperSpin\Media\Nintendo GameCube\Images\Wheel

if you only like to display the games you have and not the full GameCube list

do a search on how rom filtering works.

you need to add a rompath in hyperHQ  and click on rom filtering.

I say do a search because their is full descriptions on how to do this with pictures to help you.
