Hello!!

I come here for ask your help for a little problem that I don't succeed to solve.

I just finished to setup the Taito Type X on HS (what a mess... ? ), everything is ok.

But ! I have a graphic problem with Blazblue Continuum Shift. Only with this one.

As you can see on screens, there are black squares around fighters' sprites (all). And it's very ugly! ?

So, I would to know if there is something to do for solve this problem, a special setup or other things? Or it's just because this rom is broken? Or it's like that, we can't do anything (and so, I erase this (good) game ?)?

I specify that's the same if I run the game directly, or from Hyperspin.
And I'm on Win7Pro, I use RocketLauncher, and the Taito Type X is by PcLauncher emulator.

Thank you for your help ☺️

Works fine for me, just tested it for you. I'm on WIn10 with an Nvidia 960 4GB GPU.

You haven't actually said how you run the games. There are a number of methods to do these arcade rips. Taito Loader, GameLoader RH or Tekno Parrot. I know AMD GPUs can cause issues with games, TeknoParrot has a tickbox for AMD GPU fixes.

Thank you for your answer Honosuseri.

I run the games by PCLauncher, by a file .bat who launche typex_loader.exe. That was so complicated to setup it... ?

And I'm not on AMD GPU. I'm under Intel graphic. No graphic card, just the graphic GPU of the i3-7100.

No worries.

Did a quick search here. If you read the thread below, Juice Lee said he had issues when using Intel graphics for Taito X games. He installed an Nvidia 750Ti GPU and it resolved the issues. I have the 4GB 960 which is a much better GPU, it's on par with the current 1050Ti

Oh, ok, I just read it. SO, there is no any solution than put a graphic card. I will see what I will do. Because I don't really think it's smart to buy a graphic card, only for one game ?

Thank you very much for your help ? ✌️

Intel integrated graphics aren't recommended for emulators. Dolphin for the WIi and Gamecube for example states an Nvidia 460 as the minimum recommended. Having a GPU won't just fix that one game for you but also open the possibility of playing more recent PC titles too.

If you're not desperate, then you can wait for Nvidia to release the 1160 models this year and look to buy a 2nd hand GPU from somebody who wants to upgrade. I wouldn't personally buy a 750Ti, as it's pretty weak compared to what I use.

Yeah, was going to say that looks like a graphics card issue. I’m also shocked that it works at playable speed on a i3?

Why would you be shocked? The Taito Type X2 arcade machines are essentially a Windows XP gaming PC. They're based on Intel's Core 2 Duo CPUs with either AMD or Nvidia GPUs.

We don't emulate the arcade system, we use a loader to launch the "Arcade PC" files ripped from the original machines.

I have an Ivybridge i3 running this stuff more than happily. I honestly don't have much sympathy for people who want to play games but don't pay for a GPU though.

My Nvidia GTX460 1GB card cost me £100 new, got years of use out of it and it's now in a friend's PC for Arcade emulation. The GTX 960 4GB I upgraded to, was £150 with Metal Gear Solid Phantom Pain supplied with it. Had that for ages too and it's still capable for modern PC gaming (it's on par with a 1050TI).

I know the the Taito type x machines were basically pc’s but still some of the games will run at playable speed and others won’t.. I have taito type x/2 setup on a i3 and I know street fighter definitely runs slow.. a few other titles that I can’t remember also have issues but again it also has a lot to do with the graphics card as well. When I said i3 I was referring to a stock i3 with onboard graphics card like the intel.. so obviously a i3 with a decent graphics card would probably handle better (I assume)

Well I can certainly play Ultra street fighter IV from the Nesicaxlive collection (that has a lot of Taito stuff in there). Haven't noticed any slow downs personally and that's the most current Street Fighter Arcade Rip we have available to my knowledge.

To be clear, I didn't post to "attack" you. Just to help educate people what the Type X2 system is and what "minimum specs" I've had it running well on.

I didn’t take it as an attack.

Any event in my case.. it probably has to do with the intel graphics card which probably isn’t up to the job. I do have many  type x/x2 and nesicaX games that run perfectly fine tho.
