Very Old Hyperspin Install

Hi all, I'm running a Hyperspin install from 2012. I have no idea where to see version numbers in HS, but my cabinet is old. I recently decided to run Playstation games in it. I had to edit the script to allow for ePSXe mine would originally only recognize psxfin. Now I'm stuck with none of my artwork showing up properly (also, it doesn't look like emumovies does FLV video anymore which is what I have to have). Is it possible to update some of Hyperspin without losing the functionality of what I already have? Or am I best left frozen in time? Hyperlaunch seems to work fine for everything so I can't see needing Rocket Launch, but I really wish I could nail down what was going on with the video and artwork not working with the Playstation install. Any thoughts?

even if you update Hyperspin and your Hyperlaunch setup

your artwork not showing up has nothing to do with Hyperlaunch or your version of Hyperspin

when you added a system in HyperHQ

system added -->  Sony PlayStation (official Hyperspin name you should make sure its named the same)

this create a media folder for that system

C:\HyperSpin\Media\Sony PlayStation\

all your game media goes in that folder

it must match the names in your Playstation XML found here

C:\HyperSpin\Databases\Sony PlayStation\Sony PlayStation.XML

if your images wheels, box, CD themes are not showing its more then likely the names don't match your XML.

MP4 videos are the official video format,

emumovies has a video converter to change any MP4 you download from their to FLV.

or use your favorite video converter as you need to updated Hyperspin in order to use MP4s.

OK, so I was able to convert the MP4 to FLV, and put all the artowrk in the correct folders. Everything is named the same as it was all downloaded together from emumovies, but now the strange problem is the only thing that works is the images for the wheel. So my 4 playstation games logos show up on the wheel, but when I highlight one of them and pause the screen just fades to black with the name of the game in the bottom left. I set everything up same as my N64 setup that has similar data, but I've got nothing. It's like Hyperspin isn't being told to look for the video file even though I have it set up with the correct path in the wheel settings.  This is driving me crazy :)

make copies of your PS1 videos

rename them to match your N64 game names

temporary move them to your N64 folder (MAKE SURE TO MAKE BACKUPS or temporary move your N64 videos to a temp folder)

see if your videos play in your N64 menu (because their might be a problem with your videos;  they might play in your video player but not in Hyperspin)

I'm not sure what you are trying to do when you say "I select one of them and pause the screen"

are you pressing a button to pause the screen?

the video will automatically play when you highlight a game their is no need for you to pause the screen

And the video will only show up if you have a Sony Playstation system theme with video support  installed

Well, the video worked when I dropped it in the N64 folder with  random game name.

As for the pause, you can ignore that... (I select one of the games by stopping the joystick on it. That is when the artwork would generally populate, but it doesn't in this case, the screen just goes dim. It's the step before hitting the start button to open the emulator).

I think it may be because there is nothing in the Themes folder within the media folder. The previous wheel where you select emulators has the Playstation theme, but that doesn't carry through when you actually get into the game.  Any idea where that is stored? I may need to make a duplicate of it and get it in  that folder.

Edit: I copied the N64 default theme into the playstation themes folder and everything worked. So now I just need to find a default playstation theme that works. The first one I downloaded gave me a zip error for some reason.

I'm on the home stretch.
