The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

I am new to Hyperspin and spending a lot of time learning just what it takes to build a complete system and in the process of downloading all the files from EmuMovies.  One thing that seems to be evading me is getting Hyperspin to play the video files in an MP4 format.  I can get VLC or Media Player to lay them, but Hyperspin just refuses.  I did a test and converted a few to FLV and then they played with no issues.  I am hoping this is just a CODEC issue and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions (link) to one that will work?  Running Win10Pro 64bit.  TIA

Ok that makes sense as I am using a Dell Optiplex 5040 and it does have an Intel video card.  It has also been know to cause video issues with the basic display to where I deleted/uninstalled the Intel driver software and just let Windows handle it with its own driver set.  Guess I will have to just double down on the video files...

Thank you for the quick reply :)

Yeah, the only way around it is to convert them to .flv, which sadly takes up about twice as much space. On my old laptop, I got around the problem by using static .png screenshots instead of videos. More room for games! ?

Room is not an issue...  Being a network engineer I run a pretty decent sized NAS (75TB).  My initial goal is to get an understanding of Hyperspin and get it working on the PC level.  Then at some point I'll transition to a cabinet (still need to find one).  I think for the time being I will just concentrate on the MAME emulator and what it can run before I start diving into other platforms.

It seems a bit much when getting into it at first but after a while the workings of the Front End and then the back end become more and more familiar.

If you are just going to use default themes or a universal themes it will shorten the process.
As much as I love having individual themes for titles the gaps will always trigger my OCD.

I have created a few setups, one with just MAME, Hyperspin and Rocketlauncher with all available media that fits with plenty of space on a 128GB USB Stick.

Others I have been tinkering with default themes and layouts also a Universal theme design.
Been a while between development as I am on a new machine now and yet to re-install some vital applications needed for 16:9 conversion.

Any questions you have just let us know.
