Turnquest Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 Hi all, A few days ago my hard drive died, the boot drive of my Hyperspin pc. Luckily, I have most of my Hyperspin setup and emulators on an external hard drive. So, after installing a new boot drive (upgrading from Windows Vista to Windows 7 in the process) I got my setup running again. Most of my emulators seem to be running just fine, even though a few needs setting up again. So far so good. But I have a problem with MAME that I just can't solve. I can't use my HLSL settings anymore. They worked fine when using my previous boot drive (Windows Vista). But after my new Windows installation nothing happens when I turn on HLSL in the MAME ini file. I know MAME reads the ini file, because when I make other changes it works. And when I move the external HD to another PC, HLSL works fine. This other pc is using Windows 7 too. I am using an old MAME version (0145) but it has worked good for me up until now. I have tried installing newer versions of MAME (0146 and 0147) but the problem is the same - HLSL does not work with these versions either. I just can't figure this out. It all worked in the past, and the exact setup works on another pc. Can anybody help? Please, please, please before I lose my sanity... Thanks!
MonkeyJug Posted June 5, 2014 Posted June 5, 2014 You also need to set hlsl to 'true' in the module...
Turnquest Posted June 6, 2014 Author Posted June 6, 2014 You mean in the Hyperspin module? It's all set in Hyperspin. And I have been trying MAME outside of Hyperspin, and no luck with HLSL there either. I really have no clue here...
gigapig Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 I did a video guide for HLSL, check it out and see if you missed something. I'm using Mameuifx version 0.153 btw.
