Krnix Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 I had EDS and HyperMarquee running OK until a HM config file got corrupted (as the author mentioned as a bug) and when I tried to redo it, I started having a rare issue I try to describe: Regardless what kind of marquee I use (although I only use Artwork) , the FrontEnd (Hyperspin), got stuck when I exit a game because the HM window gets focus instead of closing itself automatically. The only way to regain FrontEnd control is by pressing ESC or mouse clicking over the FrontEnd window. After that, the HM window close automatically and the FE continues running. I've tried CLI, Pipe, CLI (Pipe), CBR on and off, etc. Also updated EDS and HM to the latest versions. Same result. Any ideas what is causing this rare behavior?

Antos Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Ok, I believe that HS is doing a mouse click on the top left corner screen of the most top left screen monitor. If HM is there than HS will lose the focus. Not HM fault. So to avoid this you can do 2 things. 1- don't put your second marquee screen on top, or on the top most left (at least virtually in windows - put in right beside). Or don't put HM full screen. At least not fully full screen, i.e leave one pixel top/left. If you pay carefully attention to these two advices, it should work fine. Good luck! HyperMarquee & Event Dispatch System
Krnix Posted July 23, 2019 Author Posted July 23, 2019 Thanks Ninja but I've done that several times and the same happens...
Krnix Posted July 23, 2019 Author Posted July 23, 2019 Thank you Antos. I'll try that. Actually my Marquee monitor is on top of the arcade monitor (fisically), and because it has larger resolution than the arcade monitor, the top left corner is to the left of the arcade monitor, so is virtually larger. I was keeping it that way because it was more intuitive to move the mouse up and down from one monitor to the other, but if putting them virtually besides helps, you are my salvation!!!
Krnix Posted July 23, 2019 Author Posted July 23, 2019 Anyway...Why HS is doing that top-left corner click?
Krnix Posted July 23, 2019 Author Posted July 23, 2019 I tried every relative position of my two monitors, and every size of HM window. The result is the same, HS freezes and the HM keeps open, until I press ESC or click over HS, then the HM window close and HS continues running. I'm kind of lost here...
Antos Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Try a very small HM window somewhere in the middle. Let me know the behavior. On thing I am sure, HM do not still the focus, this is not possible. Also, I recommend pipe. HyperMarquee & Event Dispatch System
Krnix Posted September 9, 2019 Author Posted September 9, 2019 Some news according further investigation: You're right, HM do not still the focus, it seems EDS does: When I exit the game (and HS freezes) doing Alt-TAB I can see the EDS GUI instance running, like it wasn't able to close itself...
