Hyperspin loads rom (MAME) then emulator jumps out of Hyperspin

Hello all...

HyperSpin works fine, Hyperlaunch checks out fine as well.. But when I'm loading a rom from MAME (mame.exe) the game loads then the emulator jumps outside of HyperSpin and runs on the PC. HyperSpin is still running as well.. This has been driving me crazy and I hope somebody out there has had this before, I could not find anything searching the forums.

Thanks

You might need to be specific about how it "jumps outside of HyperSpin and runs on the PC".

1. It could be that you haven't set the HyperLaunchHQ settings correctly to hide certain application layers:

2. When MAME is selected does it go into the games wheel screen where you can select what you want to play? If not then your paths are not correctly set. If there is a problem with HyperLaunch or Hyperspin, then you have error logging features to track that inbuilt; however, it appears from what you've said that it is launching the program separately. In either case more information about your HyperLaunchHQ settings and operating system is needed. Windows 7 and 8 UAC sometimes restrict programs loading as intended and you might need to run them in compatibility mode depending on your setup.

Is Hyperlaunch flashing "validity" erros as the ROM loads? I had the same issue where Hyperlaunch would load a rom, generate an error sound effect, then after 5 seconds, it would switch focus back to Hyperspin while the emulator is loaded in the background. this caused all kinds of problems with LEDBlinky for me.

Here was the fix...

Set HyperLaunchHQ - Global Settings - General Settings Logging Level - Troubleshooting

Rename \HyperLaunch\Modules\Mame\MAME (example).ini to MAME.ini

Not sure why this worked exactly...but i believe it has something to do with the default settings as it relates to cheats.

I was having a simular problem where after selecting a game, just before the fade screen would start, Hyperspin would move to the next game on the menu. This caused Hyperspin to still be running even though the emulator ran fine after the fade screen. After much trail and error I found the problem.

- Hyperspin was configured to use a spinner (or mouse doesn't matter)

- RocketLauncher was configured to "Hide the Cursor"

What was happening is that before starting the fade screen, HyperLaunch moved the mouse cursor off screen and this triggered Hyperspin to move one game. Because of the speed of HyperLaunch, HyperSpin did not recognize that it has lost focus.

The easy solution was - Configure HyperLaunch not to hide the cursor. A permanent solution would involve Hyperlaunch to hide the cursor after the fade screen or emulator has started.

Hope this helps others with this problem.

Cheers.
