kevtherev
Hello all thanks for letting me be apart of this Community. My son and I are looking to do a project together and building an Arcade machine would be great. I have a few oler Computers laying around wanted to get some opinions on system requirements to run this front end and the Emulators. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. 32assassin
the biggest draw to your PC or video card will be done by your emulators of choice. Do an inventory of what you would like to run and how big your monitor is going to be. If you want to run "Modern" systems like the 3Ds or WiiU on a 32+ inch screen. you will need a high end PC with a high end video card. if you only want to run the "Classics" systems released before the Dreamcast on a 19 inch monitor. You can use a 2-5 year old PC with a video card that supports OpenGL Most if not all your systems will run on Retroarch Here are the RetroArch System Requirements (Minimum) CPU: Intel Pentium 4 and up (CPU with SSE2 instructions required) RAM: 32 MB. OS: Microsoft Windows 7. VIDEO CARD: Any compliant OpenGL 2. x or Direct3D11 GPU. For shaders to work properly, should support at least Shader Model 2.0. PIXEL SHADER: 2.0. VERTEX SHADER: 2.0.
