tester007 Posted November 28, 2020 Posted November 28, 2020 I am finally getting back to this project. I have hs running with daphne fine. I can set up a computer monitor and it runs fine at 640x480, 800x600 or higher in XP and looks great. However, i have a ultimarc arcadevga vid card to run this on a G07 crt monitor. So all seems to function, and i set windows to 320x240 to run it on my dell lcd which can do that resolution just to test it, with the idea to then switch to the arcade monitor and install into the dragons lair cab. But in testing it on the dell a couple issues. 1) the hyperspin menu looks horrible and very chunky and distorted. How do i change the interface to run at this 320x240 resolution and look clearer like it does at 640x480? This isnt a softness, but very distorted like a scaling issue. 2) when I run at 640x480 or higher, i can hit Q to exit a game, and it goes to the main hs interface again and i can chose another game. If i run at 320x240, i can get into a game, but when i hit Q to exit, it goes to the windows desktop. Kicker is, HS is still running in background and i have to ctrl-alt-delete to bring up task manager to end the HS process as i cannot bring it back up. Anybideas why it is doing this?
Spawk Posted November 29, 2020 Posted November 29, 2020 As far as I remember, Daphne does not run below 480p. Just run at 640x480 anyway. The monitor should be able to handle this in "interlaced mode".
tester007 Posted November 29, 2020 Author Posted November 29, 2020 Thanks. Odd thing is after i wrote this i just tried hooking it up to monitor and it works. HS looks fine and not stretched which may have been the dell monitor, and the exit bug doesnt happen anymore. It all works fine.
tester007 Posted November 29, 2020 Author Posted November 29, 2020 Actually i found out why due to another issue. It was defaulting to 640x480. One of the daphne xml files i could see all the resolutions. So thats why it wasnt going to desktop when Q was hit. I went to 320x240 and it worked, but went to desktop at Q. I have no issue tho if 640 works. One thing i noticed though is all games have the attract on the wheel, except for one of them. I checked the paths in a couple of the daphne xml files and they all seem correct. The game itself works if you hit enter, just no title or wibdowed video comes up when it is selected on the wheel. Where can i look to fix this?

If you mean the video that plays and the wheel image, they are found in these folders: ..\HyperSpin\Media\Daphne\Video\ ..\HyperSpin\Media\Daphne\Images\Wheel\ There is not much to diagnose here, the files are either there and named exactly like the XML or they are not. What game is it?
