The HyperSpin 2 early access beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Trouble downloading *anything* so far...

Hi there,

Noob to HS just trying to get started so I can do some tinkering. I believe I've read all the necessary rules and done all of the precursor steps (did a search for my problem, etc.) so hopefully I haven't missed anything obvious. Apologies in advance:

I have been trying to download HS 1.5.1. full package. I'm using up-to-date Win10 and Firefox. Temporarily disabled Windows Defender realtime protection and Firefox block for "dangerous downloads."  The download still failed after a few moments.

I also tried to download the no-nag Mame .233 (which shouldn't trip antivirus if I understand it correctly?) and got the same result.

I saw that the whole site was down for upgrades yesterday, is that something that is affecting downloads?

Hi Spawk!  Sure enough, that seems to be taking care of the problem. I switched over to Chrome and it is downloading, albeit slowly (~350-400kB/s), though I assume that's due to my plebian member status. 😅

Thanks for the solution... looking forward to playing around with this in conjunction with RocketLauncher, HyperMarquee etc.  I've been needing a new project.

Hopefully I can keep further dumb questions to a minimum! (Doesn't look like there's much hope if I can't figure out to just switch browsers on my own. Don't get old, kids.)  Eh, I'll hit the tutorials, etc. Down the rabbit hole we go...

No I noticed the download was slow as well, maybe need to iron out some wrinkles with the site changes.

Hey, don't hesitate to ask questions. I am no expert but I have re-done my own setup a few times over the last decade. Glad to help wherever I can.
