The HyperSpin 2 beta is here!

We’re starting the first public testing phase with Platinum Members to keep the scope manageable while we test the current feature set and begin to add more. In the future, we’ll provide a version for basic members as well.  On behalf of the entire HyperSpin team, we look forward to another exciting adventure with our community.

Hey guys

i am a 38year old gamer. I was playing MAME/NEO GEO Games when i was a child. I´ve thrown enough money in those cabinets, i think i paid more then actual games cost.
I was playing "the punisher, king pin", "dinosaurs and cadillacs", "Windjammers", "mortal kombat", "Streets of rage", "Final fight", "Ghouls´n Ghosts", "knight of the round","dungeons and dragons".. and "spin masters".... guess i like the beat em up games....

I just watched a review on youtube from DThomasFromNC where he says "as a kid, never in my live i though it is possible to somehow on a cabinet and play those freakin games at home"... i had to laugh when he said that, because he just nailed it. I never though that would be possible.
I am planning to build a cabinet and had a funny youtube journey... I ended by sinden lightguns.... will probably buy 2. (Dang police train... i wasted too much money on that one)

I´m actually  using MameRom, Nebula and or Kawaks. I´m quite happy with it. (nebula doesnt start since some windows updates).

But going through the cabinet building videos on youtube, there was a lot of hypersping mentioning. There was a talk about a 10tb and 16tb version.
I went to this page, because is thought i could buy it here, but thats were the headache startet. After fighting through this homepage, getting a account, downloading the program, watching the "how to install video from 2016" i´m still not sure how the stuff works.
Roms seem to come from emumovies. I´m not clear if i can or have to pay for it, not sure where to look and were to ask for it, because the site rules restrict basically everything.

Ouff, thats not an easy task. Can someone help me out ?
What do I want to do?
Basically:
Build my own cabinet for 2 players, basically mostly run Mame/NeoGeo stuff. I want to run 2 sindenlightguns will all available games. Will have 1 Joystick an 6 buttons... thats it. I´m not looking forward to play any playstation, nes, snes, n64, dreamcast, xbox or else... this project is to play the 80´s, 90´s games.

Hardware will be a quadcore and a nvidia gtx 280, 4gb ram.... should work for the games i´m aiming for.

If someone could bring light into the dark for me via PN I would be very happy!!

Welcome to the forums Yoshimura,

You are free to talk about almost anything... except where to get roms (games)! Without getting into it too much I will just say that with many of these games, there is no legal place to buy them digitally. Depending on the laws in your country, some do allow for you to make a copy as long as you own the original. So if you wanted to know how to take an actual PS2 disc you own and make an iso copy that you could use in an emulator, that would be ok to talk about. If you have already dumped all your own SNES cartridges to a digital file and want to know why Yoshi's Island doesn't load in the emulator, then we can talk about that. We do not promote piracy in any way so no, Emumovies, Rocketlauncher, or here do not contain any games whatsoever. There is no 8, 10, 16 or any TB anything. It is highly illegal to distribute copy-written games with any piece of software. There is nobody anywhere that has any permission to distribute HS in any way. Do NOT come here looking for support on anything bought or downloaded from anywhere but here. Hope this clears things up.

You can find all the different artwork and gameplay videos though... things used with this "Front End". Platinum membership both here and Emumovies is recommended but know that you can in fact do everything you need for free, it just takes a little more time to do it all manually. And I will be honest, there WILL be some stuff you have to (or at least want to) do manually anyway.

I suggest you spend a good amount of time familiarizing yourself with configuring all this stuff. Controls are usually the hardest part of any setup. If you haven't built a cab yet, you may want to just try a couple of xbox360 or ps3 controllers and using them for now. Just to get use to everything. There are a few things that "kind of work" but it's not quite what you wanted or were expecting. One little setting off somewhere can really mess things up. Sometimes there are different ways to accomplish the same thing. If anyone is willing to learn, I will help wherever I can.
