Hypermarquee not working with eds hyperspin

Hi,

I am trying to get my cabinet setup,  but cannot seem to get hypermarquee to work.  I have been through everything i can find/read but nothing is working.  As far as i can tell all of my directories with wildcards are setup correctly. When i click the 'try' button in eds, it does nothing on hypermarquee. While scrolling through games in hyperspin, it changes game names in eds, but again nothing appears on hypermarquee.  I got it to display my default image, but nothing else.  

Can someone help me out, I am at the end of my rope and have nothing else to try.

Here is my EDS settings if it helps. The other difference I could see was I have the named pipe ID as blank.

You could post your Hypermarquee settings file.

Thanks gigapig for the screenshot. I put my pipe id name into the pipe id field with no change.  I also changed the properties on EDS and hypermarquee to always run as administrator. I have also tried all ipc methods and cbr combinations, no change.  Attached is my settings xml file.

When i put 9 in the event box, 1942 in game, and mame in the system box, and click the 'try' button next to hypermarquee, nothing happens.  I assume it is supposed to launch hypermarquee with the 1942 marquee?  I also watched task manager and it never starts hypermarquee.

WOW! i tried one more thing for the night.  I renamed the setup xml file to the same as the pipe call and pipe id, and it works when i hit try!! Thanks so much, i must have spent 20 hours trying to get this to work.  AWESOME! 

 

i see i still have a lot of configuring to do, the image is double , but it works and even works in hyperspin.

Awesome, I'm really glad you're getting somewhere with it as it is a mysterious beast. 

I would recommend backing up your EDS config files or all of it. On several occasions I've had EDS stop working and I just overwrite the config file to bring it back.
