Hyperspin refuses to launch

but it didnt make sense to me unfortunately, in the images theres a different directory listed for RL and HS between the settings.ini and the two highlighted in RL, correct me if im dumb but those two should MATCH ? correct me if im wrong, give me a dog treat if im right (sponge brain today)

I am not sure what you mean different directory?

I have been around here for a decade or so some of the pics might be from old setups of mine. My current setup is on drive R: now for example. But the paths shown were to my actual hyperspin.exe and rocketlauncher.exe

so its asking me to correct a path D:/hyperspin.exe - which i cannot find anywhere!!! my HS exe is at D:/Arcade/Hyperspin.exe

Sorry, I got called into work. I use to get auto notifications on my phone through an app called Tapatalk... but it doesn't look like anyone is going to fix it, been broken for months now.

Anyway, yeah the wrong paths to programs will sure mess things up! The only path to HS that I know of is in those RL settings I posted. Don't try to type the path in, use the magnifying glass and browse for your actual hyperspin.exe

still having the same issues as yesterday, even though the path to my hyperspin is correct.. its weird how it has just stopped even letting me try to launch a game

So you have corrected this error or????  There are only those two spots in RL with paths to hyperspin.exe

I am baffled at how much difficulty you are having just to get these loading. This is the easy part! I can download brand new HS and RL and get systems loading and playing in about 10 min each system. The hard part is all the artwork and videos and stuff. Making it look pretty. That's where 99% of the time is spent.

unfortunately not, theres absolutely nowhere that points to D:/hyperspin.exe - nowhere at all (not that i can find anyways)

This must be a bought or downloaded setup. How else can everything be so broken? Nothing loads? Wrong paths? You have xpadder enabled but no xpadder profiles found?

All is not lost though. You seem to be able to find your way around the settings real good so setting up fresh should be fairly easy for you. I suggest renaming your "Arcade" folder to "Arcade-old" and starting over. Just don't delete it yet. You can move all the roms and artwork over to your new setup as you go.

Ah, thank you. The RL site recently went through a major rehaul. I will fix it when I get home.

So what exactly do you need help with? Do you know what xpadder is? And why it's enabled? ...because those dimwits at arcade punks sure as hell don't seem to know or it would be set up properly. If you set this up, you would know why it is enabled and what you would have to do when the log complains about "no xpadder profiles found".

Again, we DO NOT support those downloads here. I don't really care why it doesn't work. There is absolutely no reason other than laziness that anyone should ever download any setup from there.

HyperSpin and Rocketlauncher are FREE! Setting up game launching is easy! I can have most systems launching exactly like they would in the emulators themselves in under 5 min each... Done! The vast majority of the rest of your time should be getting all the artwork/videos/themes. There is no real settings for this stuff. Just put the correct artwork in the corresponding folders and it will show. Even the artwork is technically free. You can pay for things like platinum memberships that will automate some of the process but it is not really needed. All the artwork is available, go get it. Make sure it's named correctly and put in the proper place.

* EmuMovies has been working very hard at making all our frontends look beautiful for a very long time. Sites like "punks" that share their (and ours here at HS too) work are a disgrace to the gaming community. I can understand if you don't want platinum here at HS, but please consider a membership at EM so that they can continue to make great content.

I am closing this thread now. It's titled "HS refuses to launch" and it's evolved into many different things. If you have a specific issue, please start a new thread with a new RL troubleshooting log. Include as much info as you can. If it's a display issue, are you using a 4:3 CRT? Newish PC monitor? TV? If it's a controls issue, are you using an arcade control panel? Something with an iPAC? PS4 controllers? are they wired? More info the better. Questions about downloaded setups will be ignored.
