Snes9x Test Setup

Hi. I'm a new user, but I'll try to keep details short and to-the-point.

Problem: Hyperspin program does not load or limit current audited games as set in HyperHQ and tested in HyperlaunchHQ.

Program Versions:

  • Snes9x 1.53
  • Hyperspin 1.3.2
  • HyperHQ 1.3.0
  • HyperLaunchHQ 1.0.13 (RocketLauncher from GIT repository)
  • Hypermatch 1.0
  • Hypersync Cloud 3.5.0

Program Locations:

  • Snes9x (D:\Games\Emulators\SNES\ ; D:\Games\Emulators\SNES\Roms)
  • Hyperspin (D:\Games\Emulators\Hyperspin\)
  • HyperLaunchHQ (D:\Games\Emulators\Hyperspin\Hyperlaunch\HyperLaunchHQ)

Current Setup so far:

  1. I have the system loaded in HyperlaunchHQ, emulator set to global, extensions smc|sfc, Snes9x.ahk module, Snes9x set to default emulator, full screen settings in the emulator.
  2. Two games renamed via Hypermatch as a test.
  3. Game runs appropriately when test launched from HyperlaunchHQ.
  4. HyperHQ set to multi, SNES wheel set to Hyperlaunch, Rom and Exe paths provided (full path set), Wheel filter Roms only.

Behavior when launching Hyperspin:

The program loads and pressing enter when on the SNES screen causes the SNES screen to reload; no games. [edit] Other systems in Hyperspin load their default configuration, ie- loading the entire game database with a sample title configured, such as Goldeneye for N64.

System configuration:

Other than having SSD on C:\, storage on D:\, and a general preference for separating emulator folders and Hyperspin folder structure as above, I don't *think* system specs are an issue. I can provide on request though. It's a fairly beefy HTPC/Steam Box.

Once I successfully get this set up, I want to program the X360 Home button to exit games. I'll either look for Hyperspin to do this or make a switch to RetroArch loading either a Snes9x core or BSnes core. Any heads-up warnings welcome.

New Update as I attempt to troubleshoot. I found these threads:

  1. I checked settings.ini and verified "Hyperlaunch_Path=D:\Games\Emulators\Hyperspin\Hyperlaunch\"
  2. Tried running Hyperspin as admin and reduced UAC to its lowest setting (I'm in Windows 8.1) with no change.
  3. Looking at log.txt: "10:29:55 AM | No roms found ". I went back into HyperlaunchHQ and verified with an audit that it does, in fact, find two games and I can successfully test launch them. I'm really at a loss at this point.

Ok, solved one problem and found another.

In HyperlaunchHQ, the extensions are separated by vertical line. In HyperHQ, they are separated by a comma. I now get the proper menu, but was only able to load intermittently.

I loaded ActRaiser correctly the first time, but ActRaiser 2 did not load the second time, nor did ActRaiser 1 the second time.

Ok, new update. I solved one problem. HyperlaunchHQ separates file extensions by vertical line. HyperHQ wants commas. The menu loads correctly and I got ActRaiser running the first time. However subsequent attempts to run either ActRaiser 2 or 1 failed.

Ok, testing one more post. I think the previous two got eaten by anti-spam measures and await moderation, but I couldn't read the post-message quickly enough. Just to be clear, I got the menu loading correctly but my test game only loads the first time. Will post log once I'm sure I can post again.

[edit 2] Ok, progress. I can only launch games when Hyperlaunch is not resident in memory (task tray). How do I ensure the Hyperlaunch.exe program completely exits once I press Esc? I understand AutoHotKey is integral to Hyperlaunch operation. Does the fact that AHK is also resident have something to do with this? (I'll go test that theory.)

[edit 3] No. AHK has nothing to do with it. Hyperlaunch.exe simply fails to clear. I'll search for a similar issue on the forums.

you posted the Hypespin log witch tells us very little.

the correct log to post is in your hyperlaunch folder.
