Lexhardy Posted January 19, 2023 Posted January 19, 2023 Hello all, I would like to get your expertise about a proper implementation of JoyToKey in HS/RL. I searched on the forum (and via Google) on how to set this up and i stumbled on the detailed explanation from @Spawk about this topic. I follow this to the letter. But i cannot get my controller to work within HS/RL. I have got an 8bitdo sn30 pro+ controller connected via Bluetooth to my windows 11 pro machine. I used the latest JoyToKey software from the official website. First thing i did was configuring JTK would automatically startup when i startup my PC. And follow the rest of the guide mentioned in the link above. I created the default and HS profile first and afterwards did the same in RocketLauncherUI. As i understand correctly this setup is only needed to control hyperspin and rocketlauncher with a controller. I follow all steps and even setup an escape 2 keypress combination to close the (for example) Wii U (cemu) emulator. Afterwards i rebooted the PC and started up HyperSpin. But i could not controll the wheels in hyperspin. I only could do this with my keyboard. The only thing i do not understand is when i started up Cemu within HS and tried to close the application to go back to HS (start + select button press configured as Escape) actually worked from the controller. Again pressing this button combination kept escaping from the system to the point i could close the system. But only the button combination setup specifically to work within CEMU worked. The rest does not work and i do not understand what i am doing wrong. After further investigation i stumbled upon this tutorial: https://gameroomsolutions.com/hyperspin-controller-setup-with-joytokey-and-gamepad/ where i began to understood where to find the button mapping for HS and RL and again set up the buttons accordingly but still nothing. Only the double button press (esc) i defined for cemu works. Do any of you have any idea what could be the problem? Is it windows 11? or do i need an older version of JTK? Of do i need another (xbox) controller? I have researched this issue a lot but havent found a solution for my setup. Hope you can point me in the right direction. Sorry for the long text, but wanted to make sure i decribed my issue correctly. Hope you are willing to point me in the right direction. Thank you in advance for your time. Kind regards Lex == EDIT == I downgraded from Windows 11 pro to Windows 10 pro (just to rule things out) I did a fresh install of HS / RL and JoyToKey and ..... NOW IT WORKS! I cannot explain why it works in Win 10 and doesnt in Win 11 but i got it to work. Really really happy about this. The only 'challenge' that remains is to get JoyToKey to startup automatically in Win 10 pro. I tried this method: https://joytokey.net/en/posts/how-to-auto-startup/ but so far this does not work for me. So if any of you have got a foolproof way of getting that to work i would appreciate this immensly. Thank you in advance. =========
