Hey thanks for reading, so i have a problem where eds stops working on every reboot because the content of the settings xml gets deleted. Imean not the file itself , only the settings inside the file., Is this like a common problem? harddrive test good, i shutdown the pc via hyperspin or with the on off button function from windows. Im using windows 7x64. Thanks for any help.

What i meant was, everything has been set up allready, and was working just fine for some time, i even have the usersettings.xml backed up and all i do is just copy the settings xml back into the eds folder and it works just fine back againg, but if i reboot, the settings get erased and eds stops working, i have to copy it back againg for eds to work. Im using it with hypermarquee.

What windows version are you using?  Also, did anything happen to the pc during the time it stopped working?  Unexpected power shutdown, windows  updates, installed LED blinky in Rocketlauncher, etc….?

In the meantime you haven’t done so already, try running sfc scannow on your pc.

1. type cmd on your search bar.

2. right click on the cmd app, and select “run as administrator”.

3. type:    sfc /scannow on the popup window

4. let it complete the process.

Let us know if that fixed the issue.

Thanks for the suggestion, i will try it tomorrow and post results, im using windows 7 x64. If you dont mind me asking, what does the sfc scan has to do with this? as far as i know, it scans for windows files and fixes them, as i said before, i did check my drive for errors but i used chkdsk instead. I just would like to understand. I was also thinking on making the file read only as for whatever is changing its content, it wont have acces to change it anymore. But ill try your suggestion first. Thanks againg.

Sfc Scannow checks and fixes corrupt system files.

CHKDSK checks and fix file system errors and checks the physical hard drive bad sectors

hopefully this fixes the problem, so im gonna do both things, first sfc scan, try a few reboots, and then set the file for read only so it does not get modify...
