JoyToKey high CPU usage before a gamepad is detected

I thought i would post this here since JoyToKey is used a lot with Hyperspin.

I noticed that the program uses up to 0.6% CPU time for no reason the moment you start it (manually or automatically, doesn't matter). And it will continue to eat resources until it detects a joystick. In my case, i have to turn my XBOX One controller ON. When the joystick is detected, the CPU usage goes to 0.0% and it remains there even after you disable all joysticks again. Until you terminate the program and open it again. It's like really needs to detect a joystick after JoyToKey starts.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a fix? It's a bit inconvenient to have to turn on the controller every time i turn on/restart my PC, just to free up my CPU. Yeah, it's only a little CPU usage but it's there, for no reason.
