Is there a way to put a "default" image if doesnt exist?

In my theme I have some artwork, but it is not available for every single ROM file name.   Is there a known way to put a catch all image (default.png?) so that if no image is found then the default image is displayed for that rom?

I know that works for Themes (default.zip), and I think it works for Videos (default.mp4/avi). You can always give it a try in the Artwork folder you need it in (default.png) and see if it displays how/where you want. It can't hurt.
