Converting MAME History.xml to History.dat ?

Hi,

Does anyone know how to convert the MAME History.xml to the old history.dat format ?

I want to use latest version with Hyperspeech and the xml will not work with it (they stopped generating the dat file a few months ago)

Or even better, get Hyperspeech to use the history.xml
