milfriez Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Hey All, Setup hyperspin, all configs, everything working great at my office. Had computer off for about 3 weeks and took it home. Hooked up keyboard, monitor, and mouse, and suddenly hyperspin starts acting strange. When selecting a console, it just loops back to the main menu. When trying to use the esc key, it just pauses hyperspin. I rebooted the computer and same behavior. Thinking that I had something that went wrong in hyperlaunch, i brought it back into the office to work on it. Hooked it up, and everything works completely normal, as it did before. Menus work fine, esc works, selecting console takes you to games list. What gives? The only hardware that changed was using a different keyboard, but both are Dell USB 104 key keyboards, just different models. The only other difference is monitor resolution one is 1680x1050 and the other is 1920x1080. Would any of this have an affect on menus? I have it selected to be running at Full Screen, so either way it shouldn't have any type of scaling issues. Any ideas?
milfriez Posted July 8, 2014 Author Posted July 8, 2014 Do you have speakers plugged in on both machines? Just on the original setup at the office. I didn't plug them in once I got home, but I am able to. Does that actually make a difference?
Agrajag Posted July 8, 2014 Posted July 8, 2014 Yes, it's a bug that causes strange behaviour when there are no speakers connected. HyperSpin behaving oddly? lank.g01 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Thats amazing that speakers can actually cause these issues, has anyone looked into this to see how and why these problems occur? I'm just curious, I find this fascinating.
Agrajag Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I don't know why it happens, I just know the same question comes up quite often and that's usually the solution! The author of the main HyperSpin program isn't around at the moment so we can't be sure when, if ever, the bug will be fixed. Fingers crossed he will come back some time and surprise us with a major update. HyperSpin behaving oddly?
