nofxbam Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Hi All, When running through the Hyperspin front end, I'm seeing Supermodel emulator games play at a slower speed than outside of the frontend. Not talking choppy but definitely a reduced speed of action. Sound is matched to the slower action but at the normal pitch. When I'm in HyperlaunchHQ and launch the emulator, it runs at the normal speed so there must be something going on when the front end is actually running in the background. I have the Supermodel module set up to defaults. Tried messing with "frequency" up to 50 but not seeing a change in game speed. Anyone have advice?
Fromlostdays Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 I'm no expert but hyperspin doesn't close every time you launch an emulator. Maybe your comp is just struggling? Also, I remember reading someone having a similar problem when using bezels. Make sure bezels are set to "off". Walter:beerglass:
nofxbam Posted August 29, 2014 Author Posted August 29, 2014 It's weird though because if my comp was struggling I would think the gameplay would be choppy. Instead, it's just playing at like 25% reduced speed of when the emulator is running outside of Hyperspin. When Hyperspin is running in the background, is it necessarily taking up that much resources? I feel there must be some kind of module setting I'm missing? Just in case you're wondering: 3.0 ghz dual core 4 GB ram GeForce 630 1GB
kaiman Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Same problem on pentium anniversary g3258@4,3 ghz (dual core) + gtx 580. Slow with hyperspin, full speed directly from emulator.
dougan78 Posted January 9, 2015 Posted January 9, 2015 Bezel issue maybe? Turn bezels off? Just a guess. Good luck.
boomerps2 Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Had that problem with mednafen in retroarch for PSX games. Slow choppy gameplay with crackling sound. Turning off bezel support fixed it.
