My last hypespin stayed away from Retroarch.  For this setup, I'm going to try and use it as it is the defaulf for the HQ builds and seems to start all the games with artwork right out of the box.  My issue is I'm using the iPAC 4 controller with a 4 player setup and nothing is mapped correctly.  If I lauch a game in Atari 2600, how can I remap the keys?

I found it, To Change the controls for the retroarch core, F1 Key, then sellect cores.  Maybe this retroarch thing isn't so bad afterall.

Ok, I guess I still need some help, I'm trying to map my IPAC-4 for the Atari 2600 using retroarch with core stella.  When I'm in the game, I press F1 and go into Controls and then Port 1.  I want to remap the fire key from Key z to Key Lft Ctrl.  When i click on it, it doesn't give me an option to change it.  It seems like there is a Device type issue that may not be seeing my IPAC-4?

Thank you Thatman84.  I found the emulators folder and opened Retroarch directly.  From the right side menu, I entered Settings and then input.  I dont see a port 1.  Perhaps I'm in the wrong spot?

Possibly, I won't be at the computer for a few days.

Similar layout across all platforms so here is a shot from my android RetroArch. Main Menu Settings -> Input -> Port 1 Controls

OK, I've added some screen shots.  I don't have a port 1 controls section.  I'm using the retroarch that installed with the hyperspin 2 beta.  I don't see any indication of a I-PAC4?

Your in the right spot. ipac is just a keyboard afaik so setup all of your 4player keyboard buttons in the Port1-4  menu (No Core loaded)

Retroarch is based on controllers. So you set your buttons which are fixed per player. You then reassign the emulated console button to already fixed keys per player in the Quick Menu -> Controls section Save Remap.

Be aware of hotkeys, menu keys and emulated cores that accept keyboard by default (MAMECore, Amiga etc)

more info here https://docs.libretro.com/guides/input-and-controls/#keyboard-controls

it’s kinda reversed to most emulators where the emulated system controller is fixed and you click to assign the physical button you have.

Example not exact buttons:-

If Lctrl is retropad A port1 and Retropad B is Z Port 1

Launch Atari game (Stella Core) go into Quick Menu F1 and choose Controls Remap.
If Fire is retropad B you change it to Retropad A and save the remap file.

You can only swap the configuration of the buttons assigned to Port1 Retropad.
