fireslayer26 Posted September 8, 2014 Posted September 8, 2014 Does anyone have experience making boards like this? Or know where I can have this one made. I want to use this board so I can have FFB on my Daytona cab that I'm converting to a Hyperspin driving cab. http://www.gamoover.net/tuto/l2m2-interfacer-un-ffb-et-volant-sega-model-12-avec-un-pc-ou-une-playstation-23 Thanks, William
HazzardActual Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 i dont know if you're looking to do EXACTLY that board or not, but hes drawn out the board in full and looks like he posted the file. theres plenty of online shops that will make custom PCBs like that for a decent price. check the link section on element14.com
maxxsinner Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I used http://imall.iteadstudio.com/ for my boards. You will need to make sure that it complies to their design rules and send them gerber files. Pretty easy if you have done it before otherwise you are in for a steep learning curve. fireslayer26 Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 Yes, I'm in for a learning curve. What can I use to open the LYT file in that thread? Can I use it to make a Gerber file? Thanks
maxxsinner Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I think that a LYT file is for Proteus PCB design software - http://www.labcenter.com/products/pcb/pcb_overview.cfm But I have never used it so I am not sure if it produces Gerber files. Best PCB design software for free is Eagle - http://www.cadsoftusa.com/ And you can download the gerber job and design rules from iteads website to produce the files you need. No idea if you can import the LYT file straight into eagle but you may be better off reproducing the schematic of parts on eagle then layout your own board. But I will tell you what a good friend told me when I started with Eagle... it's addictive. fireslayer26 Posted September 10, 2014 Author Posted September 10, 2014 Are the Gerber files just TXT files? Because that's what the output gave me.
maxxsinner Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Each board house has it's own requirements for the Gerber files. Itead studio has theirs on the website - 2.Gerber files needed for 2-layer PCB boards: Top layer: pcbname.GTL Bottom layer: pcbname.GBL Solder Stop Mask top: pcbname.GTS Solder Stop Mask Bottom pcbname.GBS Silk Top: pcbname.GTO Silk Bottom pcbname.GBO NC Drill: pcbname.TXT Outline layer: pcbname.GKO Gerber files needed for 1-layer PCB boards: Bottom/Top layer : pcbname.GBL/GTL Solder Stop Mask Bottom : pcbname.GBS/GTS Silk Bottom/Top : pcbname.GBO/GTO NC Drill: pcbname.TXT Note:If soldermask layers are not required, please clarify surface finish for both sides when you submit your gerber files. 3.Gerber files must be RS-274x format. 4. silkscreen line width (min: 6mil) silkscreen text height (min: 32mil) If the Proteus files don't match the design rules, they will not produce the board.
