newoski Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Hi Guys, I'm building a 2 player bartop with 4/8 way joysticks, 6 buttons per play, plus dedicated P1/P2 Coin/Star buttons. I'm about to start mapping controls, but I'm struggling with older systems like Atari and the computer based systems. Is there a guide for how people typically map the controls/inputs required per system? MESS input names aren't always easy to understand and I'm trying to figure out what inputs I need per system. Any guides/links would be monumentally appreciated! Owen

newoski Posted January 1, 2015 Author Posted January 1, 2015 Hi Ron, I'm aware of the project. My understanding is that the goal is simply to find compatible buttons across ALL emulators. My question is simply about Stella. Or there something in that thread about Stella that I'm missing?

Here is how I have Stella setup on my Cab: Not sure if this helps or makes things worse. newoski Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 Ron, This is super helpful. Do you, by chance, have this for all your systems? Could you PM me a download link? I struggle sometimes because I didn't grow up with some of these systems, so I'm not sure all the inputs required

I struggle sometimes because I didn't grow up with some of these systems, so I'm not sure all the inputs required Glad it helps some. I have this image for ALG, 2600, 7800, Daphne, N64, NES & SNES only. I'd be glad to put them somewhere for you. But, they were generated from CPWizard and modified for my CP. I also generated an individual one for each rom in MAME. These other ones were a PITA, primarily because they had to be done manually. There may be an automated way in CPWizard to do this. Thanks, Ron PS: These images I made for HyperPause. Code Monkey and all around Command Line geek!If you like what someone has said or done for you, be sure and 'Thank' them.
