so im saving "save state" files for the multiple disk games on sharp x68000

its really cool on my system...loads right into game (especially for 2 disk games)

anyway ,..inside the save state file (XM6) is stored the location of the actual roms

this posses a problem for sharing the save state files obviously

unless the person taking the file from me also has roms in the exact same location

which for me is an external drive

S:\Hyperspin Roms_Seagate\Sharp X68000\Roms

ive tried to solve this a couple of ways

but to no avail

ive even tried to change the code inside the XM6 save state file (without changing size of file) ...but didnt work

anyway if anybody has any thoughts ..... please let me know cuz i wanted to share this setup

thanks

AND

I solved the SAVE STATE problem i mentioned in the first posst

http://www.askvg.com/create-a-virtual-drive-for-your-desired-folder-in-my-computer-using-subst-command/

windows can create a fake drive.....i did it in like 1 minute and it works

so if somebody ends up wanting my setup, all they will have to do is create a FAKE S: drive and put the x68000 roms in there

and then the save state file (XM6) can load it from there

they cant do this if they already have an S drive ..........but then they can put the folders in there

im gonna post more info about what im working on sometime soon

but its pretty cool ... i think

cool new module as well

single disk games load as usual

multiple disk games load from a save state so not a ton of messing with disks

(keep in mind that some games start playing before all disks have been used so those games will still need some disk manipulation)

but the 2 or 3 disks games wont need much at all i think

im finding some what i think are "rare" games etc that are not in the tosec set etc as well

thanks

this is the website that explains the fake drive via windows COMMAND PROMPT window

it literally was one command to create

and one command to erase if you want to erase it

thanks
