keyboard keys not working on fresh install of hyper spin using windows 7 32 and 64bit

Hey,

First off I'm super new to this so I'm sorry if any of this is worded or posted wrong. I followed the How to Install HyperSpin thread but every time I launch HyperSpin the only keys that work are the up and down keys. I've gone through all the settings in HyperHQ and HyperLaunchHQ and can't figure it out. I looked at the log and it shows "Error initializing Joysticks". Just to be clear I am not using any joystick only the stock keyboard and have not changed any of the settings for controls. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the response, I finally figured out it wasn't working because I didn't have speakers plugged in.
