1942
Hi guys, I love the whole look of Hyperspin and I am just trying to put it all together. For all games such as 1942 and whatever there is no problem but Golden Tee won't cooperate. I think it may have something to do with the version of MAME that Hyperspin uses but I am not sure. I am not a newbie to MAME - I had Golden Tee setup perfectly before using MAME32FX but now when I try to setup Golden Tee in this one the controls just don't work. I have done all the configuring the buttons in Hyperspin setup area and also gone into MAME and pressed tab and gone to input general and put in my x arcade joystick coordinates - the game still won't respond with these calibrated joystick directions even though it does for other games. When I go to analog controls and try to input trackball directions it won't even let me put them in and I do have enable trackball in the hyperspin setup aswell. I really am not sure what is going on I even tried to just put MAME32FX into Hyperspin but it wouldn't recognise it. I am baffled. Please help,,,please. Hypnoziz
You can use whatever version of MAME you want. Controls set up for Hyperspin only control the wheels, they control nothing in-game. Think of Hyperspin as just a menu (which is what it is...a frontend) from which you launch programs. It's nothing more than a menu. It doesn't interfere with your gaming controls and you can choose whatever program you want to launch from it, even if it's not an emulator. 1942
Thanks for responding. I tried using my version of MAME that I had been using as I had it all configured and stuff but when I wen to fire up a game in Hyperspin it said that MAME32FX was not supported yet. I am gonna try it again and I will see how it goes. I really do think that there is some sort of problem with the version of MAME that's inside of Hyperspin though. Oh well, I will let you know how I go and thanks again.
1942
Ok, I just tried it. I went to open up a game in Hyperspin and this is the message I got. It was one of those error messages where a box comes up and makes that annoying noise: Message: MAME is an invalid system name or mameuifx32.exe isn't supported yet This has been driving me crazy all day. Hypnoziz
MAME does not come packaged with Hyperspin. You are using Hyperlaunch 1.0 which is the reason you are getting that error message. I understand you're just getting the feel of Hyperspin, but I still highly recommend upgrading to Hyperlaunch 2.0. It'll make your life easier. Take a look at this thread for instructions on how to upgrade and download modules: http://www.hyperspin-fe.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10709 You are receiving that message because Hyperlaunch 1.0 was previously set up to only search for mame.exe (command line version). Using the Hyperlaunch 2.0 modules, you can easily switch this to search for mameuifx32.exe instead.
ninja2bceen
Reviving a 3 year old post, ha The real question is what are your preferred mame trackball settings for goldentee? When I play it u barely touch the trackball to putt. When u drive u hit it so hard that it slices every time with maybe a light rotation. I've tried all sorts of trackball settings, I'm looking for settings that closely mirror the original. Got any tips? Note that I have tried slowing down my mouse to a crawl which helped a little but not enough to bring this up Please let me know if u have a decent goldentee trackball feel where putting etc takes a moderate spin. Right now I use two fingers and move maybe 2 cm on the trackball for full power straight lol

gauchomigo
I know this is an old thread, but probably worthy of a bump. I'm trying to figure out the effects/settings of changing the analog settings for the trackball in Golden Tee. I am using a 3" Happ arcade ball, with a Haswell i3 processor running Win7. The game is playable, but I keep hitting clubs around 70% (a guess) of the advertised distance. If someone has this working perfectly, I'd love to see your settings. THANKS!
