anybody know what the .null files are?

they are in rom collections for the system

but the emulator does not recognize them

null files in the Neo-Kobe sets just point out in what compilation file(s) that particular game can be found. They aren't roms think of them as some sort of index.

Don't bother checking TOSEC, kobushi spent several months putting these together and he went through all available X1 roms from the most common to the most obscure stuff not found on any of the more common sets.

like use them to load a game?

for example, there is a folder called "Asteroid Challenger (Palcom Soft)"

inside the folder ..there is ONLY a .null file

what do i do with it?

lol no, that's just gibberish doesn't say anything you probably don't have Japanese language pack installed on your machine.

What emu is that? XMillennium?

emulator is Xmil106RS T-tune v1.90

its the one anna wu said to use in that post referenced above

it loads .tap unlike millenium

Yeah that's what I use, not sure if it's the exact same version though and can't check right now. Have no problem switching models.

And that's still XMillennium btw, just a hacked version of it, check the name on the emulator window bar.
