Hi, Im PC Savvie and I understand windows xp , folder structures etc. Ive followed the following guide for setting u Hyperspin https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WDEaS-cKleI. Great tutorial, worked great. Th ePC I have is really basic, windows XP Home edition, service pack 3, net2 and 4 installed, pentium 4 3.2, 1 GB ram etc. I bought an arcade cabinet and i have a combat king dual controller ready to integrate into the cabinet. My main emulators will be MAME and Daphne. I have all the rooms and laserdiscs and they work just fine standalone, its an old version of MAME 32, 0,98.00. Ive stuck with this as all the ROMS I have work with it. Daphne isn't working and I have v1.0.0.14, ut have all the rooms / l;user disks etc for it. What I want is to with my arcade cabinet on and get hyper spin at startup, I'm going to buy the app to make the joysticks control hyper spin but before i do all that i want to ensure i get the hyper spin console working correctly. I followed the tutorial, hyper spin, hperlaunch and hperlaunchhq all work fine standalone. Ive added my MAME32 emulator and all roms/artwork etc to the MAME32 directory i created under ./hyperspin/emulators but when i launch hyperspinHQ and go to global/emulators and choose the correct directory for MAME32 (which all works ok) and then go back to the left hand panel list and choose MAME - I get the error FATAL ERROR 'No imaging component suitable to complete this operation was found. This is a fatal error and the application needs to be closed.' Can anyone help me resolve this issue as Im unable to carry on with the setup tutorials until I fix this. Any Help is much appreciated. I am patient and will listen to anyone who wants to help. Thanks.

Welcome to the forum Simon.

So this error pops up while you are in Hyperlaunch HQ? Have you tried pointing to a newer version of mame? Download and extract a new version somewhere different to what you have already set up.

Have you double checked against Tehk geeks video?

And I assume you not launched any game yet, so you can't post your logs?

Thanks gigapig. I had tried MAMEUIFX which is what the tech geeks video recommends, however it doesn't want to play my ROMS, which is why I have stuck to the older version of MAME. I will try a few different versions of MAME to see if I can get any joy and see where that takes me. Thanks

Thanks once again Gigapig - I just did a fresh install of all the Hyperspin files and it now works. I also moved to MAME32UIFX (some of my old roms now dont work), and audited games. I have followed the gigaguides setup on youtube to get hyperspin working with MAME -

as the previous instructions I was following have gone :/. Anyhow, followed the tutorial all the way through and Hyperspin now works. Thanks for your help.

I see this thread has been dead awhile but I am a new member and I have the fatal error problem and have had no luck figuring it out. The above link doesn't work for me. Any suggestions?
