krazyscotsman Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I'm running into a problem with Hyperspin. I have Hyperspin setup and I have 40+ systems installed and running including MAME. MAME works perfect - no issues at all games launch and when exiting, exit to Hyperspin correctly. However, I have AAE installed and I have the Hyperlist XML. I'm using MAME to launch AAE games. AAE games launch and exit correctly from Hyperlaunch HQ. In Hyperspin when I select AAE and press ENTER, Hyperspin "acts" like it's going into the game list wheel; but the screen goes black / blank and Hyperspin seems to crash because I'm forced to close Hyperspin with CTRL+ALT+DELETE and end the process. There's nothing in log that specifies anything is wrong it shows that Hyperspin is going into the game list. But nothing happens afterwards. Any thoughts on what is causing this? I'm at a loss on this one. Thanks for any help.
gigapig Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 Go into the Hyperspin settings folder and a look at the ini for AAE or post it here. Perhaps there's something amiss.
baddeolv Posted January 11, 2015 Posted January 11, 2015 I have the same problem. I think you have to define an exit key that isn't esc Instagram : baddeolv Kik : baddeolv Facebook : Brian Addeo www.facebook.com/thecorepunk
krazyscotsman Posted January 12, 2015 Author Posted January 12, 2015 I'm not sure what the problem is. For AAE, I am using MAME as the emulator and my MAME.ini is exactly as the AAE.ini file. MAME games opens and closes exactly as they are suppose too. I'm at a loss for what the issue is. Thanks for chiming in.
gigapig Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 So the issue is just entering the sub wheel not launching anything? If that is true have a look at the AAE.ini for anything strange or do it through HyperHQ, sounds like a path, extension or wheel filter issue.
baddeolv Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Wait...I wonder, and this could be a long shot, but I wonder if you have the currupted asteroids theme that caused the same type of issue. It could cause this to happen if the subwheel is trying to start on that theme. Just for shits and giggles, delete the theme, and see if the problem goes away, then update to the new version of the theme Instagram : baddeolv Kik : baddeolv Facebook : Brian Addeo www.facebook.com/thecorepunk
krazyscotsman Posted January 14, 2015 Author Posted January 14, 2015 baddeolv - that's exactly what it was - or at least I'm pretty certain. I spent some time trying some different stuff and I finally stripped everything out of the media folder as it was the only thing left. Once I restarted Hyperspin, it worked. Thanks baddeolv and Gigapig for your help troubleshooting this.
