Help. I'm putting together my first mame cabinet using hyperspin 1.3 I am using a Xin Mo Arcade to USB Controller 2 Player Kit to connect my buttons and joysticks. And I'm not getting any response in hyperspin, However in hyper hq I get response when I set up my controls. I did some searching around and I saw someone say 1.3 doesn't work well with joystick controllers or something along those lines. Any advice or suggestions?

Make sure you have not got Joyticks selected in HyperHQ as there is a bug in the program. Use keypadder or joy2key to set up the use of the Xin Mo. I have the exact same controller kit and Keypadder works no problem at all.

so i installed, joy2key because i couldn't find keypadder (if you could provide me with a link id really appreciate it!), and i am now able to scroll through the hyperspin wheel however i am still having a few issues:

*my buttons do not work, when it comes to selecting a game from the when i try to make a selection, adding coins, or anything

*when i am asked to move my joystick left to right to run the ROM, the joystick does not recognize and i have to manually type in ok

*lastly once i load the rom the response time of the joy sticks is horrendous

any configuration advice for these kinds of problems?

You could start by not being a complete idiot!! (Everyone, that was a joke. I am actually helping him build this. We are actually friends and hangout often.)

I think AutoHotKeys might be the best option. I had to use it for my iCade to get it working with mame on my pc. I am pretty sure you can make it to run in only hyperspin so it doesnt effect mame or your other systems.

EDIT: Sorry Silverback. I didnt realize you were talking about AHKs. We are going to try that when he gets home.

Just an update:

we went with x-padder. It was the easiest and fast option and seems to work great! and he was talking about mame when referring to the ok screen. Had him reconfigure to the new buttons and its seems to be working good.

You can get a modified version of mame to remove the nag screen....if needed...just thought I would mention it.

Glad you got it all sorted!

Hello. I'm looking for some advice. I'm brand new to this. I bought a cabinet a month ago that had a ipac button system in it(if I'm saying that right?). I then bought a Hard drive with Hyperspin loaded on it and I then got a computer. It's all hooked up. I'm using SOME of the games but I'm having a few issues. Was wondering if someone could help

1. I'm using win ipac to control my button configuration however when I play certain systems (ie snes) I can't get the buttons to match up. Even though I go into the emu page for snes and configure the controls there. (Example when playing super punch out I can't use the knockout punch which was just SELECT on actual snes)

2. When attempting to use the Atomiswave I can't get any of the buttons to control anything

I appreciate any feedback. Thx a lot
